Comments: Overall DRAQ5 is an excellent product with simple and easy to use instructions.  The dye has very good sensitivity and specificity and can be easily plugged into any protocol with minimal change.  DRAQ5 has cut down on protocol time and the high concentration of the stock solution allows one to conduct multiple studies with one vial of solution; thus dramatically reducing costs and time compared to similar nuclear dyes.

Comments: We need to counterstain for DNA in most of our experiments using human cells. DRAQ5 is rapid, simple and very efficient and, very importantly, requires a far-red excitation, much more common and less toxic for live cells than UV lasers (required for DAPI/Hoechst staining).

Comments: We use DRAQ5 for high content screening in live HEK293 cells for the purpose of nuclear detection and segmentation. The dye very simple to use and works perfectly at very low concentrations in HEK293 cells with very low toxicity.
