Comments: We used DRAQ5 as a nuclear stain to normalize for well-to-well variations in cell density.  This was done in an On-Cell western looking at expression of CB1 surface receptor.

This product was consistent in staining and was an excellent reference stain.

Comments: I used this product to stain nuclei in living cultured plant cells for confocal imaging of mitotic events. I found the dye easy to use and the staining was very quick. The fluorescence was strong and very stable.

Comments:                 Imaging mitochondrial dynamics requires that my sample be completely stationary and alive! CyGel allowed me to stabilize zebrafish larva and obtain time-lapse images of mitochondria. I was able to rescue the fish afterwards, so that fish could be imaged on multiple days if necessary.

Comments: Worked with diluted stock solution in PBS (better handling and accuracy). The applied incubation time, temperature and concentration were important for good reproducibility. On permeabilized cells the nucleus had better signal and stained clearly.  On the non-permeabilized cells, the cytosol was stained also.
